“A fast, high quality substitute”
Kuru Kuru Sushi provides a fast, high quality substitute to traditional sit-down sushi restaurants with its unique conveyor belt approach. Patrons sit down at the bar that stretches the length of the restaurant and pick from sushi that travels in front of them on the conveyor belt. From an open kitchen behind the bar, sushi is prepared constantly.
The sushi travels past on colored plates, and each plate on average holds three rolls, and the price of the sushi is denoted by the color of the plate. The cost of the meal is tallied at the end of the meal by counting the number of plates.
At Kuru Kuru Sushi I find myself experimenting with new things, because I can see them without having to order them, plus the cost of making a mistake is minimum. In fact trying new things at Kuru Kuru Sushi has changed how I order at traditional sushi restaurants. Plus, I can eat within an hour, which makes having sushi within my one hour lunch time a possibility.
The restaurant is in one of Bellingham's nicer buildings along the harbor, in a corner location. It is well lit, very clean, and the open kitchen is a nice touch especially when you consider they are preparing fresh raw food. Most of the time there are three to five sushi chefs working hard to keep the conveyor belt stocked with plates.
